What Is a Group Session?

If you’d like to offer group instruction on Metafy, or even just a group hangout, you can add them to the Metafy Group Sessions page. The group size, cost, duration, and what takes place during your allotted time is completely up to you.

How Do I Set Up My Group?

Start with this Form. With this tool you’ll set up everything from Group Session Title to the banner, description, time, date, cost, and all the other relevant details. If you don't see your game listed, please contact Success or Support, to have it added. Please note that recurring sessions must take place on the same day and time each week.

How Do Students Join the Group?

Students browse, sign up for, and pay for Group Sessions through the Group Sessions page. Payments need to be in the form of a credit card. Please note that Group Session purchases cannot be made using Member credits.

Where Do I Hold My Sessions?

Group Sessions take place on Metafy’s Discord server, at discord.mfy.gg, in a dedicated Group Session channel. That channel will become accessible to you an hour before the Group Session is about to start, and we recommend you test out your audio equipment before the session.

When Do I Get Paid?

Group Session payments are processed once a week on Fridays, and only paid out after your Group Session (or the first session in a Group that meets over several weeks) has taken place. If you don’t see a transaction in your Metafy wallet by the weekend, please reach out and we’ll help on the following Monday. Please note that Friday Group Sessions will be paid out the following Friday.

Do Group Sessions Count Toward Top Mentor?

They do! With one caveat: If a Group Session takes place at the end of the month, because we process payouts manually and just once a week, that session may count toward the following month rather than the current one. Top Mentor metrics are tied to our payment schedule.

What’s the Cancelation Policy?

If you miss or cancel a Group Session, you will lose the ability to offer future Group Sessions, and your students will all be automatically refunded. Even if only one student signs up, by offering a Group Session you agree to hold that session no matter what.

For students, Group Session purchases can only be canceled and refunded at least 48 hours before the scheduled session start time. If your group meets over the course of several sessions, the 48-hour window applies only to the first session. Once that time has passed, the student refund window has closed.

How Do I Find My Discord ID?

To lead a Group Session, you will need to provide both your Discord ID and your Discord Username. Your Discord ID is a numeric code, and is not the same as your Discord Username. To find your ID, go to settings > advanced, turn on developer mode, and right click on your username to copy ID.

Can I Record a Group Session?

Absolutely. Students are not authorized to record any part of the session, but Pros are permitted to film and distribute Group Sessions at their discretion.

Can I Edit My Group Session Listing?

Honestly, we’d prefer that you just made a brand-new listing. But we can make certain types of changes for you if needed.

  • Things we can edit:

    • Description

    • Images

  • Things we can’t edit:

    • Title

    • Date

    • Time

    • Lesson Count

    • Price
