Hey 👀 I know why you're here. You want to offer Discord roles in your Server as benefits for your Supporters, duh. No problem. Here are some step-by-step instructions for getting that done. Stay with me, it can be a little complicated.
First, create some Roles in your Server:
Log in to Discord on the app or Desktop site. If you haven't already, create a server using Discord's guide to creating a server
Go to the Server you're planning to connect to your Metafy Club, and click on the drop-down button next to your server name
Click on Server Settings
Click the Roles tab
Click the Create role button to create a new role, or use the search tool to find the roles you want to link with your Club tiers
Give your role the desired permissions and access to channels within your server that you'd like the corresponding Club Supporter tier to have!
Time to connect your Discord Server to your Metafy Club:
Once you've got your server and roles ready to rumble, follow these steps to connect your server to your Metafy Club:
Make sure you have connected your Discord Account to your Profile
If you haven't already, create your Metafy Club (see here for instructions on how!)
While in your Club, go to Settings at the top of the screen
Click on "Discord roles" in the left-hand rail
Connect your Discord server when prompted. Be sure to keep all permissions (Manage Roles, Kick Members, and Create Invite) selected!
Enter your Discord Server and continue:
While logged in to your Discord server, click on the server
Click on the drop-down button next to the server name
Click on the Server Settings menu item
Click the Roles tab
Drag the Metafy Discord bot to the top of your roles list, above other roles. If you have other roles that you do not want the Metafy Discord bot to manage, make sure that they sit above the bot.
🚨Not putting the bot at the top of your roles list may prevent it from assigning new roles or removing roles from anyone who is no longer paying, especially if it’s below any roles you’ve linked to Club tiers. Also, don't mess with the bot's permissions. Trust- it's set up exactly right.
While you've still got your server open:
Make sure you have at least 1 text channel that is open to anyone, and not read-only. This is where the Metafy bot will be able to create invites from.
Open this text channel -> Edit Channel -> Permissions -> Advanced Permissions
Select the Metafy role
Under Membership Permissions, "Allow members to invite new people to this server," make sure the green checkmark is there!
Now, finally, on to assigning roles to Supporter Tiers:
First of all, make sure you have some Tiers set up! If you're lost, check out this Help Article on Tiers.
While in your Club, go to Settings at the top of the screen
Click on "Discord roles" in the left-hand rail
There, you'll be prompted to select Discord roles for the Tiers you have set up!
Once your roles are connected to a tier, you'll see it as a "perk" of that tier:
Still having issues? You can always disconnect and reconnect your server, or phone a friend by creating a Support Ticket in our Discord Server, or email us at support@metafy.gg.
