So, you’re ready to join Metafy – awesome! Creating an account is quick, easy, and free. This guide will walk you through the sign-up process step by step, with pointers for setting up your profile so you can start booking lessons or joining communities in no time.
Step 1: Go to the Metafy Sign-Up Page
Head over to the Metafy homepage. In the top-right corner of the site, click “Sign Up”. (If you already have a Metafy account, click "Log in" instead.)
Step 2: Choose a Sign-Up Method
Metafy gives you multiple convenient ways to create an account. You can either sign up with a classic email & password combo, or use one of your existing accounts from other services (single-sign-on). Choose whichever is easiest for you:
Email and Password: Enter your email address and pick a secure password. Make sure to use an email you have access to because we’ll send a verification link to confirm it’s really you.
Sign up with Discord: If you have a Discord account and want to streamline things, you can click the Discord option. This comes in handy later, since Metafy integrates with Discord for sessions and community servers. If you’re already logged into Discord on your device, this literally takes seconds.
Sign up with Google, Apple, Twitch, or Facebook: Similarly, you can choose one of these providers:
Select the one you want and follow the prompt to authorize Metafy to use that account for login. It’s safe and secure – we only get the basics needed to set up your profile.

Step 3: Pick a username and the games you want to follow
What should we call you? Be creative. Or not. This will appear on your public Metafy profile but you are able to change it any time on your settings. Our only ask? That you do not choose a name that goes against our guidelines. Remember, this will be a clear reflection of you.
Metafy has a Discovery feature. Much like Netflix, we recommend content tailored to your interests and here is where you set it up.
Step 4: Verify Your Email
If you signed up with an email and password, Metafy will send a verification link to the email address you provided. This is to ensure no sneaky impostors enter our sacred space – we want to make sure you are you.
Check your inbox for an email from Metafy. If you don’t see it, wait a few minutes and/or peek in the spam.
Open the email and click the verification link inside. This will lead you to the Metafy homepage and "Your account is now verified" will show up in the corner-right.
If you used a social login (Discord/Google/etc.), you can skip this step because those accounts are already considered verified by their provider. One less thing to do!

Congratulations, you’re in! Now that your account is created, you will be able to customize your personal space from your Settings in the corner-left of your page. This is to show off a bit and let Metafy Partners and other users know who you are. This step is optional but highly recommended – especially if you plan to interact in Communities or leave reviews. A blank profile is not fun.
Here are the basics to set up:
Avatar: Upload a pretty picture of yourself or your pet OR choose from our selection of default avatars.
Display Name: This might already be set from your sign-up info, but you can change it anytime. Your display name is also your profile slug (aka: your personal Metafy URL).
Bio: Say a little about yourself! If you’re a player, share what games you’re into, what you’re hoping to learn, or your proudest gaming flex. This helps Metafy Partners—and other users—get a sense of your vibe.
Country of Residence: We ask for this to handle taxes properly. Please make sure it reflects your actual location.
Language & Region: This helps with scheduling and timezone accuracy. If you speak multiple languages, list them all—Metafy’s growing globally, and this helps you connect with even more people.
No pressure to perfect everything right away. You can always come back and update your profile anytime by clicking your avatar in the bottom left.

If you didn’t sign up using Discord, it is necessary to link your Discord account to Metafy after you’ve created your account. Most Partners use Discord for sessions, and having your Discord connected makes it super easy for them to find you and invite you to calls or servers for lessons. It’s also how Metafy integrates with community chat and sends you session reminder notifications if you opt in.
To connect Discord (you can do this now or any time later):
Go to Settings (click your profile avatar > Settings).
Find the Connected Accounts section. Click Connect Discord and follow the prompts (it’s similar to the Discord sign-up flow, you’ll authorize Metafy to link to your Discord).

Woohoo! Account created and profile set! Here’s what you can do next:
Browse Creators and Games: Use Discovery or the magnifying glass on your left nav to find a Metafy Partner. You can also search by game or community and guide keywords to find your people. The search button is your gateway to everything that Metafy has to offer.
Join a Community: Check out Communities to follow your favorite player or hang with Metafy members who play the same game.
Book a Session or Event: Found someone you want to learn from? From their profile, go to Sessions to see what they are offering. Clicking on the session you want to book will open up a calendar. Pick a date and time from there, pay (link a payment method - card, GooglePay, or PayPal) and wait for them to confirm!
Check Your Email for Updates: Metafy will send confirmation emails for any bookings you make, and reminders before a session starts. Make sure emails from us aren’t going to spam. You can manage notification settings on your profile if needed.
Set Up Payment (if not done yet): The first time you purchase something, you’ll enter your payment details. Q: Do I have to pay to create an account?
A: Nope! Signing up for Metafy is completely free. There’s no subscription or entry fee for players. You only pay when you decide to book a paid session, purchase a guide, or join a paid community. You can create an account and browse around without entering any payment info. So there’s zero risk in signing up just to see what’s available.
Q: I’m not 18. Can I make my own account?
A: Metafy’s community includes many younger gamers (teens and up). If you’re under 18, you can still use Metafy, but we recommend involving a parent or guardian in the sign-up process – especially for handling payments.
If you’re under 13, please have a parent create and manage the account for you (in many parts of Metafy, we require users to be 13+ due to privacy regulations). We want everyone to learn safely, so make sure to get the green light from your folks. We even have a Parents’ Guide to help them understand how Metafy keeps you safe.
Q: I made an account. How do I become a Metafy Partner?
A: Becoming a Metafy Partner is easier than it sounds. Just head over to the Pro page and pick a plan.
Core is free but you pay with 8% of your earnings. Pro is $29/mo but it becomes $19/mo if you sign up for the annual plan.
Q: I signed up with the wrong email or made a typo in my username. How can I fix it?
A: No worries. If you need to change your email, go to your Settings and look for the email field – you may update it but this may trigger another verification so be ready for that. Changing your username is easier but please follow our guidelines when you do! If you run into any trouble, hit up support@metafy.gg and we’ll help sort it out.
Q: Do I need to verify my identity or anything to use Metafy?
A: For regular Metafy members, no formal ID verification is required – just the email verification. (For Metafy Partners offering services, there are some verification steps for payout setup, taxes, etc., but that’s another story.) As a Metafy member, once your account is set up and email verified, you’re good to go.
Q: Can I have multiple accounts?
A: It’s best to stick to one account per person. Your account can be part of multiple communities and book with any coach, so there’s really no need for separate accounts. Having multiple accounts might confuse your Metafy Partners and could violate our community guidelines (which frown on impersonation or dodging bans, etc.). If you accidentally made a second account and want to merge or delete one, let support know. Otherwise, keep life simple with a single login.
Q: I clicked Sign Up with Discord, Google, Apple, or Facebook but it’s not working.
A: If a social sign-up isn’t working (e.g., Discord auth window didn’t pop up, or Google gave an error), you can try an alternative method or these quick fixes:
Refresh the page and try again (could be a temporary hiccup).
Make sure your browser isn’t blocking pop-ups or redirects – the sign-up might open a new window to authenticate.
If using mobile, sometimes switching to a desktop browser can solve it, or vice versa.
As a last resort, use the email sign-up and then link your social account later in Settings.
